DB was facing up to six years in prison on the charge of possession of a controlled substance. DB had six prior felony convictions and he received prison sentences on the last four cases. I was able to provide mitigation, including a favorable TASC report, and persuaded the judge to sentence him to probation with drug treatment even though the State’s Attorney was asking for a lengthy prison sentence.
